Vitreous Hemorrhage

What is it?

A vitreous hemorrhage occurs when bleeding happens inside the eye, blocking vision. It is commonly caused by diabetic eye disease, retinal tears, or trauma.

Common Symptoms

Sudden vision loss, dark spots, or floaters.

Treatment Options

Mild cases may clear on their own. More severe cases may require eye injections or surgery (vitrectomy) to remove the blood and treat the cause.

When to See a Specialist

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important to be evaluated by a retina specialist. At Retina Associates PA in Jacksonville Florida, we provide advanced diagnostic testing and personalized treatment plans to protect and preserve your vision.
