Retinal Detachment/Tear

What is it?

A retinal tear or detachment is a serious condition where the retina pulls away from its normal position. This can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated quickly.

Common Symptoms

Flashes of light, sudden floaters, or a shadow or curtain over vision. Seeing a spider web is also a common symptom.

Treatment Options

Treatment may include laser therapy, freezing treatment, or surgery such as vitrectomy to repair the retina. Early treatment is critical.

When to See a Specialist

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important to be evaluated by a retina specialist. At Retina Associates PA in Jacksonville, we provide advanced diagnostic testing and personalized treatment plans to protect and preserve your vision.
