A choroidal nevus is a benign (non-cancerous) pigmented lesion in the back of the eye, similar to a freckle. Most nevi do not cause symptoms and are discovered during routine eye exams.
While typically harmless, regular monitoring is important to ensure there are no changes that could suggest transformation into a more serious condition. Treatment is usually not required unless suspicious changes are detected.
