Dr. Lambrou is a board certified ophthalmologist, and fellowship trained retina specialist who has practiced medicine in Jacksonville Florida since founding Retina Associates, P.A. in 1988.  He is one of the most experienced and best trained retina surgeons in the state, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Princeton with a B.S.E. in electrical engineering. He received his MD from Emory University School of Medicine where he was elected to the Medical Honor Society and  completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He then did a two year medical and surgical retina fellowship at one of the top fellowships in the country, The Medical College of Wisconsin. He has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Florida, and as Ophthalmology section chief at St. Vincent’s and University Hospitals.  He has received numerous awards both for his clinical excellence and for his charitable work including the 2005 Orbis Medical Faculty Award, the 2005 Florida Society of Ophthalmology Community Service Award and the 2014 Vision is Priceless “Most Valuable Volunteer” award. In addition, Dr. Lambrou has been involved in numerous clinical trials, published dozens of papers, and received research grant funding to pursue his ideas.

Dr. Lambrou and his wife are passionate about philanthropy and very involved in the Jacksonville community, supporting the Jacksonville Historical Society, The World Affairs Council, and the Music Through the Ages program at All Saints Episcopal Church.  He is currently visiting faculty at Saint Georges University School of Medicine in St. George, Grenada where he provides free medical care, including retina surgery, to the small island nation.
